It's been a while...

Today marks the 36th week of pregnancy... OMG I cant believe we are almost there! The doctor says any day now, although its better to wait a bit longer.... Xavier came about 2 weeks early so we will see with this little one. We finally decided on a name, Marcellus which is my dads middle name... we couldnt think of anything else... He will be my little Marc-ee! Anyway I think we have everything he needs since we have a lot of stuff from Xavier. I just need to wash everything for him (I hate washing clothes)....

Yesterday was my birthday, I feel like I am getting old....23. Xavier has been sick for the past week, poor baby. Lets see I finished his quilt...

I know it is so far from perfect... very far... the word perfect and this quilt should not even be in the same sentence BUT I am so happy with it... I love the colors, I love that I never gave up, I love that its for my baby... Please keep in mind this is the first thing I have EVER sewed! So because of that I cant be mad at myself right... I made a few mistakes... I didnt prewash, luckly no colors ran onto eachother... the only noticeable thing is the wrinkle from shrinking in the wash it seems.... I cut the binding to small so it is really tight... oh and it took me until I was almost done to figure out how to sew a straighter line... All the lines are pretty crooked. Oh well I am sure that there is many more quilts to come in the future because I loved it (hopefully they get better with practice)!

Oh and I forgot our maternity/ family pictures... you can see some sneaks here.... you know click the here... if you leave a comment we will have a chance to get a free gift... so please leave comments on those pictures...

Okay off to clean... the nesting period is wonderful right...

The quilt came out really good, I love the colors too. Funny, I was finishing up my son's quilt while I was just about to give birth to my daughter.
I was told not to wash fabric before you sew the quilt so when you do, it puckers and gives the vintage look, which you did and it looks great. Who cares about crooked lines? You made it for your baby, how sweet is that?
Good luck with your next baby. I think you'll find that taking care of your second baby is way easier than when you had your first because you'll be much more confidant and relaxed and a newborn is so much easier than a toddler, at least that's what I found.
Take care!

LOVE the quilt! The colors and the way you put it together look so good!
I hope all goes well with the little one on the way...and I think Marcellus is a great name. It sounds very strong.
Can't wait to see more picts when he gets here!

I wish someone would make me a quilt! I think it's lovely. And any imperfections will only make it that much more special :)
